SQUARE D METER PAK SYSTEMS FOR
METERING JOBS

Spring and summer are the seasons for metering jobs. Whether these are for "new" apartment/retail work or for retrofit jobs, Square D has the systems that "fit the bill" for meter stack work.
For applications requiring six or less branches, Square D has the "MP" series of metering equipment. Since the "6 disconnect rule" is in effect, no single means of disconnecting is necessary and the "MP" line is available in "main lugs only" configuration. For two to six positions (up to 125a or 200a per position), the "MP" meter centers main bus ampacities run from 200-600 amps. Available with either ring or ringless type meter covers (NYSEG requires the ringless type), these meter centers come in a combination overhead/underground feed setups for versatility. Typical applications for the "MP" centers are: small apartment houses, small retail strip malls and any mixture of apartments/stores with a maximum of six total branches.
The Square D "EZ" meter centers are for larger jobs ( MORE than six positions) that require a single means of disconnect. The "EZ" centers offer a main circuit breaker (from 400a to 1600a) or main fusible switch (400a to 1200a) for disconnecting. Branch devices are available from two to six position in either 125a or 225 a maximum branch. Jobs that would require the "EZ" meter centers are larger apartment houses and retail malls with more than six meter sockets needed.
Both the "MP" and "EZ" centers offer a horn bypass as required for commercial installations and are for single-phase 3 wire applications.
Yaun Co. has sold several of these meter center jobs so far in 2004. Here's your source for residential and light commercial metering jobs!

Divide and Conquer with Allied Moulded Products new LVP-1 low Voltage Partition.

Was there ever an application where line voltage and low voltage devices needed to be installed in the same box? Was there a worry that the electrical wires might somehow "cross" and end up damaging the low voltage device?
Allied Moulded Products new LPV-1 low voltage partition is the solution to this dilemma.  This partition converts Allied Moulded fiberglass boxes into boxes that meet the 2002 NEC requirement as accepted for both line and low voltage devices. The partition is inserted between the gangs keeping the line and low voltage conductors separate.  The LPV-1  separates line and low voltage conductors within the same electrical box and eliminates the need for specialty boxes and rings.
Fast and easy to install, the LVP-1 eliminates the need for specialty boxes and rings that have been used until now.  It is a UL Listed product and is designed for use in the following Allied Moulded deep boxes: 2302 (2 gang); 3303 (3 gang) ; and 4304 (4 gang). The partition is molded in an orange color, the accepted color for low voltage applications.
So, end your concerns about mounting line and low voltage devices in the same boxes. The LVP-1 is the answer to your problem!
