The National Association of Oil Heating Service Managers 51st Annual Convention and Tradeshow proved once again to be interesting and informative. Recently held in Hartford, Ct., Burt Robertson and myself saw the displays at the Expo Center. Many of our vendors were in attendance and it's always a plus to see some of the persons behind the scenes at the factory. Immediately I was drawn to the Weil McLain outdoor exhibit of a working steam boiler. To see a live demonstration of what takes place in a steam boiler with the help of clear piping was impressive. We had that demo in New Paltz last year . There were too many vendors to mention them all here, but a few that seemed to draw considerable attention were Viessmann showing the new Vitoflame oil burner, Hago with their new "w" all purpose nozzle, Hydrolevel's new low water cutoff, and, National Magnetics Sensors, the oil level indicator company, now have an oil heater. Peerless with their direct-vented boiler and Axeman-Anderson showing their wet-leg designed lightweight steel boiler were all hits as was the Quietside boiler. A very good show and well worth the time to attend.
