We were excited when we introduced the new two stage 90+ gas furnace in the March 2004 issue of the YaunCo Report.  Yaun Company now has the UGRK model in stock ready for your needs. Just a reminder in case you missed the last issue,  this furnace operates at 70% capacity for low-heat and 100% capacity for high-heat, saving you energy and maintaining optimal comfort levels.  We feel this new addition will allow you, the contractor, the ability to offer your customer higher comfort levels and reliability and still be affordable.

Duct Board Alternative to Steel

With the rising cost of steel and the possibility of steel shortages you may consider the use of Duct Board for your next duct job.  We stock the Certainteed Ultra Duct Gold which is a rigid board designed for fabrication into supply and return air HVAC duct work. Composed of resin bonded glass fibers with a reinforced foil laminate air barrier/vapor retarder facing applied to the outside surface and a fiberglass textile mat bonded to the air stream surface. The product can be used in heating and cooling systems which operate at velocities up to 5000 fpm and temperatures up 250 degrees, and a maximum internal pressures of 2" water gauge. This product is strong and resistant to mold, bacteria and microbial growth.  Ultra*Duct Gold also provides excellent thermal properties and absorbs unwanted cross talk, equipment and air rush noise and exhibits low air flow resistance.  It also meets all applicable fire resistance standards and building code requirements.  The product can be cut using manual duct board cutters which we also stock.

What's Up with  Steel?


We have been hearing some suppliers are seeing shortages and longer delivery dates being pushed out in some cases over a month.  The price increases seems to have hit a plateau, and  slowed down over the last few weeks. It is now more an availability issue.  We are still seeing price increases from some of our vendors whose products are made of steel.  Many of our venders have tried to hold back price increases working off of old steel supplies.
