Meet Yaun Co’s Burt Robertson

Yaun Company is pleased to profile Burt Robertson, Sheet Metal Manager and a principal owner of Yaun Company. After attending Sullivan County community college he married his high school sweetheart, Cindy 30 years ago. Burt started working for Yaun Co in 1978 filling orders and putting stock away. He was a counter man and inside salesperson and purchases metal products.

Burt has learned most of the aspects of the business with hands-on experience, besides attending the many service schools to learn the basics on how to install and trouble shoot most of the HVAC material we sell. If he is not able to help you with a service problem, he knows where to go for each manufacturer to get you to the next level of technical service you may need.

Burt oversees our sheet metal shop and can help with custom made items and offer advice to help design your custom made sheet metal items.

Burt is a descendant of Jonathan Bradley Robertson, who was one of the early settlers in this area, and had a small town named after him. Robertsonville was its early name; it later was changed to White Sulphur Springs to promote the sulphur springs to draw tourists to the area.
Burt has lived beside Briscoe Lake his whole life. His latest active project is volunteering for the rebuilding of the Briscoe Lake Dam. In April of 2005 another 100 year flood washed out the dam. The community formed the Briscoe Lake Community Association that raised money to purchase the property the dam was on and now received the permit for the DEC and the Army Corp of engineers to rebuild the dam. Burt is also a volunteer fireman for the Jeffersonville Fire Dept. He was Scout Master for 8 years while his son Jesse was growing up. Jesse helps out with many projects at Yaun Co and is attending the University at Albany. Burt has many hobbies: raised and bred parrots, getting out in the woods and seeing wildlife, woodworking from making cabinets to turning bowls, doing stained glass to incorporate in wooden frames, and selling items on e bay.
