GO GREEN” WITH COMPACT FLUORESCENT LAMPS (CFLs)
Energy/ecology-conscious homeowners are switching their traditional incandescent lamps for ENERGY STAR qualified
Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs). By doing so, home energy usage is reduced but, more important globally,
greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global climate changes are prevented.
Lighting accounts for almost 20% of an average residential electric bill. ENERGY STAR qualified CFLs consume up to 75% LESS energy than the oldtime standard incandescent “A” lamps, last up to 10 times LONGER while providing equivalent lighting levels.
For example – a 60W A-19 incandescent lamp produces 890 lumens and lasts up to 1000 hours where a 15W mini-spiral CFL produces 900 lumens and can last up to 10,000 hours. Another example – a 75W incandescent produces 1220 lumens while lasting 750 hours where an 18W mini-spiral CFL gives off 1100 lumens with a life of 10,000 hours.
If every home in America replaces just ONE incandescent lamp with an ENERGY STAR CFL,
in one year enough energy would be saved to light more than 3,000,000 homes while preventing greenhouse emissions equal to that of 800,000 cars.
Yaun Co. is stocking these mini-spiral CFLs along with other types so check with your local salesman for pricing and availability.
It’s a NO-BRAINER – save money on your electric bill while helping save the environment!
Consumer Reports has recently completed studies on 7200 Hour Expectancy CFL's and found that
some of them especially some sold by big boxes last less than 2000 hours on average. Yaun Company sells CFL's rated for 10,000 hours and meet the energy star requirements for longetivity.
