Ventalarm = Delivery

It has come to my attention that many of the home fuel oil providers will no longer make deliveries if a ventalarm is not installed. To my knowledge, this is not a NYS requirement but rather an insurance issue. A ventalarm is cheap protection against an oil overfill. If you are at a customer’s home for other service, check to see if a ventalarm exists in the piping. Do the homeowner a favor and strongly suggest that one be installed before they get refused a delivery.
