What you should know about brass vs. bronze Pex fittings

Larry Richardson, Vice President of Sales

If you access the internet you are probably aware that two major suppliers of pex systems are facing class action lawsuits because of failed or failing brass fittings. Some brass fittings in certain environments may deteriorate and become brittle in a relatively short period of time.

Viega PureFlow™ fittings are cast and machined from a solid bronze alloy. This gives the fittings high corrosion and stress cracking resistance. The bronze alloy has been specially developed to resist dezincification, a process that can weaken ordinary brass fittings over time.

Viega has consistently engineered with the highest quality, ease of installation and system security as their primary goals. If you have not yet switched pex systems, stop in at any of our three locations and ask to see a Viega demonstration or ask your area sales representative to bring around a sample. Find out first hand why so many of your peers have made the Viega commitment.
