Certainteed IAQ Products: ToughGard2 Textile Duct Liner Tom Newton, manager of advertising and promotions for the CertainTeed Insulation Group, Valley Forge, PA, says the growing awareness of indoor air quality in residential and commercial settings has led to activity among the more forwardlooking building owners and contractors. “The growth of various ‘green’ programs is a positive,” says Newton, who adds that it has led to certification of IAQ products from the Greenguard Environmental Institute. “During the last 10 years,” says Newton, “CertainTeed did a lot to develop products to fit this area, such as ToughGard2 Textile Duct Liner, and enhanced surface (ES) moisture repellant duct liners.” ToughGard2 Textile Duct Liner is described as a new generation of fiberglass duct line that provides improved levels of acoustical and thermal performance, and easier handling properties, even when compared to the original ToughGard. Newton’s tip for contractors is that they stay upto- date on new technology and methods, “so that when you’re talking to a commercial or residential customer, you can demonstrate an interest and understanding of IAQ in homes and business.
